The Antarctic Erotic Black is a 38mm Swiss hand-wound automatic watch with a matte black dial, white Super-LumiNova applied indexes, and a hidden animated caseback complication driven by the winding motion. The most understated execution in the collection, nothing on the surface betrays what lies beneath. Built on the Antarctic platform used in U.S. Navy Operation Deep Freeze since 1955.

The secret complication

Flip the watch over. Begin winding. The sapphire caseback reveals a mechanical animation invisible from the front: a hand-painted penguin automaton, driven by a cam system integrated directly into the movement. The winding motion, the same action that powers the Soprod P054 hand-wound movement, simultaneously drives the animation. No battery. No electronics. Pure mechanical ingenuity, hidden on the reverse side of the watch where only the wearer ever sees it. This tradition of private, discreet complications, automata and erotic scenes concealed in watch casebacks, dates to 18th-century Swiss horology. The design reinterprets that heritage with irreverence and craft.
